The lack of adequate control and monitoring processes for construction projects and the effects that this causes has generated deep discomfort in society and the environment of the construction sector, due to the existence of unfinished, delayed works, cost overruns, low quality, projects mutilated etc. The Earned Value technique is an integral tool of the PMBOOK with which it is possible to identify early warnings that prevent a project from leaving the baseline with which it was projected and that its completion meets the standards of quality, cost and time, scheduled from the beginning of the same and throughout the execution stage. The results obtained in the present investigation demonstrate the feasibility of implementing the Earned Value method as an economic, reliable and efficient proposal to improve productivity in buildings, allowing the real situation of the project to be known in a timely manner, detecting deviations and generating information necessary for decision-making. decisions and corresponding corrective actions in a timely manner. The present investigation provides the application of the Earned Value method through simple tables that can be developed in any spreadsheet, which are described in detail so that they are a control and monitoring tool that allows the successful completion of any project. construction project. The format of a periodic report of easy interpretation and reading is also presented, which allows the reader to observe the general status of the project, its progress, its development and its projections according to the performance that has been had to date, in terms of budget. , final costs of work and estimated times for completion.
