The present study was aimed at solving the following research problem: What is the frequency of Tuberculosis diagnosed with the rapid molecular method in the GeneXpert MTB/RIF platform in the Laboratory of Hospital III Iquitos EsSalud from January to December 2020? The objective of the Research was: To determine the frequency of Tuberculosis diagnosed with the rapid molecular method on the GeneXpert MTB/RIF platform in the Laboratory of Hospital III Iquitos EsSalud from January to December 2020. Material and methods: This research is quantitative and retrospective, with a non-experimental, descriptive design. We worked with a sample of 136 insured patients who underwent the molecular test for tuberculosis on the Xpert MTB/RIF platform. For the analysis of the information, the SPSS V.24 statistical package was used. Results: A total of 136 molecular TB tests were processed, 83 (61.03%) of them came out and Mycobacterium tuberculosis was detected, according to gender, 47 (56.63%) were female; according to age from 61 to 70 years with 22 (26.51%), according to type of lung sample 80 (96.39%), according to resistance to rifampicin it was 3 (3.61%). Conclusions: For the detection of Mycobacterium tuberculosis, the diagnosis by the Xpert MTB/RIF® test presented good sensitivity and specificity and provides faster results and leads to earlier treatment, improving the chances of interrupting transmission.
