This research was developed on the Tarapoto - Yurimaguas highway, Km 19 + 950 - Km 19 + 990 of the province and department of San Martín, with the purpose of carrying out a design of Dynamic Barriers and their relationship for the protection against the fall of rocks, prevent accidents and loss of human life as well as protect the road that is one of the most affected by the constant falls of rocks registered in the rainy season (October-April), it is also the only means of land transport for the connection between the city of Tarapoto and the district of Yurimaguas. The purpose of implementing dynamic barriers on the Tarapoto - Yurimaguas highway at km 19 + 950 - Km 19 + 990, is to mitigate the destructive effects of the rocks that currently present considerable damage to the section under study and allow the residents to make use of this road without fear of being in danger when traveling. Dynamic screens are flexible metal structures whose objective is to stop rocks or material detached from a slope, preventing it from reaching a specific area to be protected, such as towns, railways or roads. These structures are in high demand due to their low cost and ease of installation, and they are capable of protecting from impacts of a very broad spectrum in terms of energy. In this work, the objective is the optimization of material in each component, so that the energy absorbed per unit of mass is the main variable to take into account. For the development of the research, it was necessary to know the physical and mechanical properties of the rocks to determine the friction angle, which helped us to determine the limit value of slip resistance. A total of 40 linear meters were investigated with the aim of designing dynamic barriers, which were designed to achieve the optimal retention capacity of the rocks. It has been concluded that dynamic barriers meet their effectiveness by reducing the impact of the rock flow that affects the population, this evaluation is easy and 11 concrete to develop for any evaluator. It also recommends that the study can be refined in the future with the validation of more research projects that facilitate installation and improve performance where dynamic barriers need to be placed.
