The present study was aimed at solving the following research problem: What is the seroprevalence of Trypanosoma cruzi in donor applicants of the Hemotherapy Center and Type II Blood Bank of Hospital III Iquitos Essalud - 2021? The objective of the research was: To determine the seroprevalence of Trypanosoma cruzi in applicants to donors of the Hemotherapy Center and Type II Blood Bank of Hospital III Iquitos Essalud - 2021. Material and methods: This research is quantitative and retrospective, with a non-experimental, descriptive design. We worked with a sample of 2,630 eligible applicants after interviewing blood donors. For the analysis of the information, the SPSS V.24 statistical package was used. Results: The seroprevalence of Trypanosoma cruzi in applicants for blood donors who attend Hospital III Iquitos EsSalud - 2021 was 1.26%; According to sex, male 02 (66.67%) and female 01 (33.33%); According to age, the most frequent range was from 36 to 45 years with 02 (66.67%), according to origin it was urban with 03 (100%). Conclusions: Trypanosoma cruzi in blood banks continues to be a risk factor in recipients, it is important to identify and reject donors with risk factors that may be in window periods and reinforce prevention and control programs for this disease.
