This study is not experimental, correlational and cross-sectional, and was to determine the correlation between the prevalence of dental caries in children of 1st grade of School 601491 Mother Teresa ofCalcuta and the level of knowledge theirmothers on oral health-2015. The sample consisted of a total of 82 school grade 1 and theirmotherswho met the inclusion and exclusion criteria. The results allowed us to conclude that there is a significant relationship between the prevalence of dental caries in schoolchildren in 1 st grade and level of knowledge ofmothers on oral health. (cx=95%) The level of knowledge about oral health were divided into three levels: high, medium and loand the CPODwas divided into five levels: very low, low, moderate, high and very high. In general, the predominant sex was examined in children males 54%. As for the educacional level ofmothers 62% had incomplete secondary. On the level of employment ofmothers with 82% are housewives. Toe prevalence ofdental caries in schoolchildren in 1st grade ofScho0l 601 491 Mother Teresa of Calcuta was 65%. Finding a CPODindex 11.4 OPS considered as a very high average. The level of knowledge ofmothers on oral health was 54%with a lowlevel. With regard to oral health questionnaire examined in greater proportion mothers they ansvered the question No. 20 WHat is recommended to take your child's lunchbox? Wih 100%. At the crossroads of the prevalence of caries in 1st grade of School 601 491 Mother Teresa of Calcuta and the level of knowledge ofmothers on oral healthwas observed that mothers have a lo leve} of knowledge about oral health presents a very high level in the CPODindex at 50% and likewise also found thatmothers who had a high level of knowledge about oral health have a very lowlevel in the CPODindex with 66.7%.
