This research project entitled “FLEXIBLE PAVEMENT DESIGN PROPOSAL AND ITS RELATIONSHIP WITH IMPROVING TRAFFICABILITY ON THE CACATACHI - RUMISAPA ROAD, SAN MARTÍN DEPARTMENT“, was developed in order to contribute to the population that is directly affected due to poor road conditions, for better vehicular and pedestrian traffic. The soil evaluations carried out on the road: Cacatachi - Rumisapa, which is at the level of the granular layer (affirmed), allow us to appreciate that at present this road has superficial insufficiencies that in some sub-sections are critical and the serviceability is variable caused by excessive potholes and deterioration seen on the road. Therein lies the importance of the topic chosen for this thesis since the improvement of the highway in question will allow to improve vehicular traffic in the area of influence. The project presents the design according to the AASHTO 93 methodology, which seeks to determine the thickness of the asphalt layer for the design of the flexible pavement, in addition to the structural number and serviceability of the pavement, it also makes use of the Highway Manual and the CE standard. 010 urban pavements for some references required by the thesis. Of the application instruments, they were rated from effective to highly effective. In addition, it will allow its practical effects and making available a technical study that makes it possible to provide adequate road infrastructure for the surrounding inhabitants and the floating population as a whole. The implementation of a proposal at the final study level will improve the vehicular and pedestrian traffic of the Cacactachi - Rumisapa highway.
