The purpose of this study was to develop a mobile application for the identification of timber forest resources in the Peruvian Amazon. The study was of a correlational type with a transactional design, the sample consisted of specialists (dendrologists) working at the Peruvian Amazon Research Institute, with a total of 6 people. The techniques used for data collection were observation and survey, the instrument was the questionnaire and for data analysis we used percentage tables, averages and statistical graphs. The most relevant results were: A user satisfaction level of 83. 3% both in terms of the functioning of the mobile application and in the identification of timber forest resources, making it a useful tool for the identification of 10 timber forest species: Aniba Rasaeodora, Cedrela odorata, Cedrelinga cateniformis, Dipterux micrantha, Otoba glycycarpa, Otoba parvifolia, Simarouba amara, Swietenia macrophylla, Virola flexuosa and Virola pavonis, avoiding and reducing indiscriminate logging and unnecessary felling of non-timber trees. The results obtained were interpreted by means of statistical tables and graphs and the research hypothesis was accepted: Does the development of an application improve the identification of timber resources in the Peruvian Amazon in 2020?
