Breastfeeding is the best form of nutrition that a mother can offer her newborn child; because it contributes more effectively to a good physical and mental development of the child. Not only because of its composition but also because of the emotional bond that is established between the mother and her baby during the act of breastfeeding. Objective To determine the level of knowledge about exclusive breastfeeding in puerperal women attended at the IPRESS I-4 Bellavista Nanay, October 2020. Methodology The present study was of a non-experimental quantitative type with a descriptive and prospective design; The sample consisted of 120 puerperal women who attended the IPRESS I-4 Bellavista Nanay during the month of October 2020. Results The main sociodemographic characteristics of the puerperal women treated at the IPRESS I-4 Bellavista Nanay were; 48.3% were between 21 and 35 years old, followed by 35.0% who came from rural areas, 38.3% had secondary education, 42.5% were housewives and 40.0% were married. Among the obstetric characteristics of puerperal women; 31.7% were primiparous and 50.0% had >6 NPCs. Conclusions 50.0% had a regular level of knowledge, followed by 34.2% with bad knowledge and only 15.8% had a good level of knowledge.
