Health education can improve knowledge and understanding among women about the importance of screening and seeking early care. It has also been proven around the world that the best way to reduce the cost of health care is to keep people healthy and detect disease in its earliest stages. Objective. To determine the knowledge about breast cancer and prevention practices in women between the ages of 25 and 55 in Caserío Cabo López - Belén, 2020. Methodology. Quantitative research study. The non-experimental, descriptive, crosssectional and prospective research design. The population made up of 8,500 residents of the Cabo López village. The sample consisted of 258 women. Outcome. The present study was carried out in women between 25 and 55 years of age from the Cabo López village, with a predominance of ages between 25 and 35 years, grade of primary education, cohabiting marital status, and housewives occupation. In the Gyneco-obstetric characteristics it was found: menarche from 9 to 12 years, beginning of the first sexual intercourse after 15 years, with more than 2 sexual partners, did not use contraceptive methods, first pregnancy between 13 and 18 years, have a single child and a higher prevalence of women who are not in menopause. The level of knowledge about breast cancer and prevention practices is inadequate. Conclusion. The level of knowledge about breast cancer and prevention practices is inadequate.
