Deforestation is associated with changes in land use, which in turn can be the consequence of different illegal activities. In the attempt to mitigate the loss of forest, different conservation mechanisms are used. For this, in 2010 the National Program for the Conservation of Forests for the Mitigation of Climate Change was created, which began to implement the incentive mechanism called Conditional Direct Transfers with the purpose of strengthening the capacities of conservation and reduction of deforestation. of communal forests. The general objective of the study was to prepare an analysis of deforestation and its relationship with communities affiliated to the TDC mechanism in the department of Loreto. The descriptive type of research was used, analyzing a total of 55 communities affiliated to the TDC, which allowed us to know the current state in which the affiliation agreements of the communities were, to later focus on analyzing deforestation in the communities that they were with an active agreement and the variation of deforestation in these. The analysis allowed identifying the provinces of Alto Amazonas, Ucayali and Marical Ramón Castilla and the districts of Yurimaguas, Contamana and Yavarí as those that reported the greatest area of forest loss in the period 2001 - 2019, while of the total number of communities affiliated (55) to the mechanism of TDC, it was identified that as of February 2021 only 5 have the active agreement, reducing the hectares of conserved forest and the number of families benefited, also indicating that the highest percentage of communities are in different states, even disaffiliated from the TDC . In conclusion, it is considered relevant to carry out a detailed analysis identifying the areas in which more deforestation is reported and from that to implement mitigation actions, it is necessary to identify the shortcomings in the implementation of the CDT mechanism in the department of Loreto, due to that, of the total number of affiliated communities, only the minority has an active agreement and it is necessary to take measures that can help to improve this mechanism.
