In Iquitos there is a high percentage of deteriorated pavements with little durability throughout their useful life, likewise, there are sectors that currently have pavements with a rolling layer of existing material (clays, clayey silt, sands with a high presence of clay in their structure). This research aims to study the behavior of the physical - mechanical properties of different types of soils when treated (stabilized) with hydrated lime and quicklime, these soils belong to the Navarro Cauper Extension. The methodology used is deductive, because the soil phenomena were determined, with guidance applied in accordance with regulations in force in Peru, with a quantitative approach through the use of bar graphs of the dependent variables such as plasticity, maximum dry density, capacity of support with CBR and expansion, with % of lime, with descriptive level by the use of correlations, diagrams between the variables. Doses of 2%, 4% and 6% of hydrated lime and quicklime were used, in two soils, the pit 01 with high plasticity, expansion and the pit 02 with low plasticity and expansion, obtaining as a result that with the quicklime increases resistance, controls the expansive effect, slightly reduces density and plasticity. While hydrated lime does not offer great resistance, and maintains density, plasticity and expansion in similar conditions. Concluding that, in clay, expansive and highly plastic soils, quicklime can be used for soil stabilization, in sectors that do not have a rolling layer.
