Its objective was to identify the relationship between iron deficiency anemia and psychomotor development in children aged 6 to 24 months who attend the San Jerónimo Health Center. The methodology was of a descriptive, non-experimental type, where a sample of 108 children was considered, who had mild to severe anemia. The clinical records were used as an instrument. Within the studied population, 81% have mild anemia, 12% with moderate anemia and 7% with severe anemia. Likewise, 95% of children with mild anemia have a diet of breast milk, unlike those with severe anemia, of which 50% do not consume breast milk. It is concluded that there is 86% of cases of mild anemia, likewise the area of psychomotor development most affected is motor skills with 88% in children with severe anemia, showing a significant relationship. A positive relationship was found between the variables of anemia and psychomotor development, resulting in a degree of correlation of 0.432 for the coordination area, 0.483 motor area, 0.317 language area, 0.359 social area, demonstrating that there is a relationship between iron deficiency anemia and psychomotor development in children 6 to 12 months.
