In less severe cases, an injured subject needs devices to provide stability to his gait, as crutches or passive orthoses. In many cases, the use of these devices produces effects that worsen the physical condition of the injured. Therefore, a quantification of these phenomena would be appropriate and useful for improving the design of these devices and rehabilitation treatments. This study aims to estimate the principal values of the moments in the joints from the measurement of gait kinematics and kinetics of an incomplete spinal cord injured subject, using Multibody System Dynamics tools implemented in the LIM (Laboratorio de Ingeniería Mecánica). The measurements were performed with a capture system OptiTrack FLEX: V100, two AMTI AccuGait force plates and two crutches instrumented with strain gauges.
