Background: The restrictions of the pandemic caused consequences in adolescents who are in a decisive stage of development, coupled with the risk and protective factors were affected by the context, which could have had an impact on the adolescent's competency system, so that the consequences could be manifested differently between Lima and Piura. Objective: To compare the resilience in teenagers of private educational institutions of Lima and Piura, as well as according to gender. Method: The design was descriptive-comparative and 170 students aged between 12 and 18 participated (Mean = 14.9; SD = 1.44), being 51% women and 49% men from Lima and Piura. The Wagnild and Young resilience scale was used. Results: It is shown that there are no statistically significant differences in the level of resilience when comparing the institutions of both departments, likewise, according to gender, no differences were found. Conclusions: Regardless of where they come from or gender, teens can build resilience no matter how difficult and unknown adversity is.
