This study was conducted in areas of domain Punchana districts, Iquitos and San Juan. The sampling points were a total of 14, distributed as follows: seven (7) on Avenida Abelardo Quinones and seven (7) on Avenida La Marina; surveys were conducted in homes in the jurisdiction of sampling points; whose objective was to evaluate the noise levels on Avenida La Marina and Abelardo Quinones in relation to the National Environmental Quality Standards for Noise in the city of Iquitos. The results shows that the average daytime noise exceeds night noise in the two study areas, Quiñones Avenue and Avenida la Marina with an average of 77.11 and 71.59 dBA dBA for Quinones and 77.62 dBA and 66 57 dBA in the Navy; determined that the average noise at all sampling points exceed the National Environmental Quality Standards for Noise (D. S. No. 085 - 2003 - PCM), both in daytime and in night. As for the average noise, the population of the city of Iquitos is aware that there are problems of noise, which affects the quality of life, normal development of their daily activities, creating some problems such as insomnia and stress. The population perceives that the noise problem in the city of Iquitos, in turn can decrease an Environmental Education through proper awareness of the effects it has on human health. The highest percentage of noise is generated by buses, trucks, motorcycles and motorcycle taxis in the city of Iquitos.
