The objective of this research work was entitled "Active methodology and resolution of quantity problems in the fourth grade of secondary school at the Independencia Educational Institution, Lima". The objective of the research was: to determine the relationship between the active methodology and the competence to solve quantity problems in the students of the Independencia Educational Institution of Lima, in the 2024 school year. The research approach was quantitative, applied, with a non-experimental cross-sectional design and a descriptive correlational level. Sample made up of 136 students from the Independencia Lima Educational Institution. The technique used was the survey and the instruments were the questionnaires. Results, 61% of the respondents state that the active methodology is at the bad level, 59.6% of the students state that the resolution of quantity problems is in process. Conclusion: Through the general hypothesis test, according to the evidence, the research hypothesis is accepted, rejecting the null hypothesis, verifying that the significance is 0.000 less than the value 0.05, the positive correlation value is 0.738 demonstrating moderate reliability, therefore, it is confirmed that: Active methodologies are significantly related to the competence to solve quantity problems in the students of the Independencia Educational Institution of Lima, in the 2024 school year.
