In order to know the reality of a population little analyzed in the scientific environment and in a context in which there are no similar studies, even less in the police graduate school itself as an area of investigation; The initiative arises to evaluate if the success of achieving graduation by some graduates has any link with the academic performance of the graduates while they were studying. Our report reveals a first interest that goes through knowing if the experiences of those who did not graduate, are associated with low academic performance in the subjects that we consider are directly related to the preparation of a thesis, such as research methodology and statistics, or if, on the contrary, those who did succeed in graduating, justify it primarily by their registered academic performance; the second interest is to propose mechanisms or strategies to overcome obstacles. The analysis has as spatial delimitation, the police graduate school itself, while the temporal delimitation is nine years (2003-2011); that is, nine promotions of graduates from said Higher Academic Police Center. It is a non-experimental and transectional study; bivariate; correlational approach since we seek to establish some relationship between the study variables; and in which the quantitative analysis predominates given its characteristics.
