The objective of this research work is to determine the influence of meaningful learning on the development of critical thinking in these students. In order to achieve the explicit objective, the following instruments were used: the Significant Learning Questionnaire by Osorio (2018) and the Individual Generic Competencies Questionnaire – Critical Thinking Section by Olivares et al. (2013), adapted by Núñez et al. (2017), which were applied to 80 students from the aforementioned institution. The results achieved were as follows: At a descriptive level, the highest percentage of significant learning is concentrated at the low level, the figure being 69%.; while, for critical thinking, the highest percentage is 70% and focuses on the bad level. At the inferential level, Spearman's rho correlation coefficient between the aforementioned variables turned out to be .603, with a bilateral significance level equal to .000; Therefore, it is classified as a direct and significant correlation. Likewise, the R2 coefficient obtained was .364; In conclusion, meaningful learning has an effect of 36.4% on the development of critical thinking.
