The present study uses a quantitative approach and a descriptive-cross-sectional design. The study population is made up of 85 patients admitted to the Intensive Care Unit. The survey technique will be used, using the Nursing Stress Scale (NSS) as an instrument, composed of 34 items distributed in three dimensions: physical, psychological and social environment. Each item offers four Likert-type response options, from "0" (never) to "3" (very frequent), with a total score that varies between 0 and 102 points, with a higher score indicating a higher level of stress in the nursing staff. Results: the findings of the study will provide information on the level of knowledge of nursing staff regarding disaster risk management, a relevant issue in the face of the effects of climate change and the growing vulnerability to natural disasters. Conclusions: the results obtained will promote a deep reflection on the importance of knowledge in disaster risk management, highlighting the need to strengthen preventive capacities and decision making based on said knowledge.
