This research set out to determine the stereotypes in the Construction of the characters in the film Gregorio (1984) by the Chaski group, in such a way that it is possible to interpret how stereotypes are manifested and later to be able to objectively describe said stereotypes in the characters. In addition, the process of categorization of the characters within the film was identified, in the same way the social comparison that exists between the analyzed characters will be examined, to finally analyze in them the process of attribution of characteristics and the stereotype-prejudice process that manifests itself. To achieve these objectives, a qualitative, non-experimental methodology with a descriptive cross-sectional design was used; A non-probabilistic convenience sampling technique was used, which has as its unit of analysis, the Peruvian film directed by the Chaski Group, and produced by Stefan Kaspar, lasting 85 minutes. Taking as a sample of said study, the selected sequences of said film were worked on, analyzing only the characters with a sufficient leading role. The characters analyzed were Gregorio, Juana, Jacinto, Chollo, Tachuela, Retacito and Gitano, this was done by applying an observation technique and proposing as a data collection instrument the Four-Dimensional Study of the Character proposed by Sergio Arrau. Finally, in the results, a communicational analysis diagram was applied according to the Umberto Eco model, identifying the systems referred to by the author such as: the message as a significant form, the receiver and the film's code, getting to observe that it is the Socialization process - Migration from the countryside to the city - Vulnerability, social exclusion and discrimination - Social mobility and informality, thus reflecting the ideology of the author, which is the Strengthening of identity, national reality, social and cultural values.
