The aim of this study is to identify the levels of depression and the types of violence that were found in women victims of gender-based violence in a health institution in San Juan de Lurigancho in the year 2023. The study was carried out using a quantitative approach, type basic, with a cross section and a descriptive level, with an intentional sample of 127 women victims of gender-based violence, chosen by a non-probabilistic survey. The instruments used were the intrafamily violence epidemiological file and the Beck II (1996) depression inventory. The results determined the existence of three levels of depression in women victims of violence: mild, moderate and severe. Regarding the types of violence, we find physical, psychological, sexual and abandonment. According to the sociodemographic data, adult, single women with completed secondary school are the most exposed to being violated, with the “cohabitant” being the aggressor with the highest incidence at 22.7%. In conclusion, it is evident that depression and gender violence are related. With respect to the dimensions of the variables, we refer that psychological violence and the moderate level are the most frequent in the sample.
