The present report focuses on the research of the Therapeutic Gardens to establish the appropriate criteria that influence the design of a Shelter for Women Victims of Violence in Trujillo, determining that the criteria of these gardens are being used to create spaces that besides promoting physical, emotional and psychological well-being, allows to change the rigid perception that this type of infrastructures presents when worrying only in technological aspects and leaving aside physical environmental aspects that directly influence the user’s recovery. However, in Peru there are no infrastructures that take into account these criteria and apply them in establishments dedicated to promote the well-being of people, likewise, it’s not considered in the regulations for projects of this magnitude, which means that the shelters existing in the country are not in the right conditions to accommodate women victims of violence and at the same time provide the therapeutic support they require. For this reason, it was considered the study of Therapeutic Gardens to find that dimensions of them can be applied in the architectural object, both outside and inside the building to be able to perceive the healing effects from different points of the project. Therefore, it was decided to take into account the research carried out in the Theoretical Framework and Case Analysis to determine the design guidelines that will serve as architectural solution and that will be applied in the developed project, being the Theoretical Framework the unit of study that analyzes the Therapeutic Gardens and its principles, and Case Studies, the study unit that analyzes each selected case in which buildings for the well-being of people such as hospitals, health centers and shelters are involved in which the criteria of this variable are applied. Finally, the units of study were developed and the architectural project was carried out, the pertinent conclusion is reached to the established hypothesis, which indicates that the application of Therapeutic Gardens influence the design of a Shelter for Women Victims of Violence as long as it considers the following criteria as: design strategies, relaxation spaces, social interaction spaces, natural lighting for user’s comfort and visuals to nature, so that a positive impact is generated both in the users.
