This study has been developed with the aim of knowing the relationship between knowledge and application of biosafety standards in nursing professionals at the Surgical Center of Santiago Apóstol Hospital in Utcubamba. For this purpose, a quantitative methodological approach was used, at a descriptive, correlational and transversal level. The sample population consisted of 30 nursing professionals working in the area and the type of sampling was non-probabilistic, non-random and for convenience. The participants signed an informed consent and met the research selection criteria. The results obtained were the following: The level of knowledge regarding biosafety measures is predominantly medium, represented with a percentage of 66.67%, then at a high and low level with a percentage of 16.66 and 16.67% respectively. Regarding the application of biosafety measures, this is mostly high, with a percentage of 63.33%, then the medium level with a percentage of 36.67%. Concluding that: There is a statistically significant relationship between the variables studied, represented with a p-value=0.001 and this is <0.05
