Determine the relationship that exists between the epidemiological characterization and the use of postpartum contraception in women treated at the Puquio 2022 Support Hospital. Method: non-experimental, relational, retrospective and cross-sectional study. The sample was made up of 360 postpartum patients treated in 2022 at the Puquio Hospital. Results: During the study period, it was observed that postpartum patients at the Puquio Support Hospital opted for various contraceptive methods, the most used being the quarterly method with a percentage of 42.2%, followed by the condom (30.0 %), the implant (20.6%) and tubal ligation (7.2%). Regarding sociodemographic characteristics, only age showed significant values (p=0.000), while marital status (p=0.183), occupation (p=0.877) and level of education (p=0.992) did not. . Similarly, in relation to obstetric characteristics, only the number of pregnancies showed significance (p=0.029), while neither the history of abortion (p=0.612), the history of contraception (p=0.460) nor the type of previously chosen contraceptive (p=0.357) did so. There is no significant relationship between the epidemiological characterization and the use of postpartum contraception in women treated at the Puquio Support Hospital in 2022.
