The assessment of the environmental impact on solid waste functions as an entry point to analyze the determinants, actions and arrangements of the actors involved to solve a public problem. The general objective was to determine if the Geographic Information System influences the environmental impact in solid waste management in the district of Ica-Province of Ica, 2022. The methodology focused on a study of basic type, explanatory level and non-experimental design; in which the sample was made up of 224 residents and 2 environmental specialists from the district of Ica. The results showed that the majority of residents discarded containers in cans (45%), in plastic containers (83%), there are still residents without solid waste collection service (4%). Therefore, residents sometimes need to hire solid waste collection services (11%). Because they do not permanently have the service on a daily basis (17%)), they have sometimes received talk on waste management (11%). Conclusions: Theentry test showed a deficient level (69%) solid waste management and environmental impact situation that improved when performing the exit test where this level was significantly reduced (9%). Finally, it was verified by ρ = 0.000 < 0.05 that the use of the Geographic Information System significantly influences solid waste management and environmental impact in the district of Ica-Province of Ica, 2022. Therefore, the opinions of environmental specialists are taken into consideration in which they agree with the application of GIS in order to mitigate future impacts through the technological application that provides greater precision through vector systems that identify the precise places for the identification of SR and in the future the mitigation of environmental impact.
