The research addresses the issue of time management and academic performance of high school students in Lima in the context of virtual education. The continuous use of information and communication technologies (ICT) has meant a break from face-to-face education, opening the way to virtual education in an intuitive and fast way. Faced with the new challenges that arise in the educational context, different factors emerge that favor or hinder training, some referring to access to technology and others, to the conditions for the learning process. The objective of this research is to identify how time management and other factors influence the academic performance of students in a high school in Lima in virtual education. it is based on the exploration, selection and organized review of some academic sources that address the topic in question. The references show that students are open to new ICT tools but that conditions are sometimes unfavorable for access to networks and devices. The authors point out as factors some referred to learning styles, motivations, and aptitudes of each student. It is concluded that, in the virtual education modality, the student is also responsible for his or her learning, but that in addition to commitments, discipline and motivation are required that allow him or her to develop autonomous learning.
