Autistic traits are the subclinical manifestation of the diagnostic dimensions of autism present in the general population and constitute what is known as the Broader Autism Phenotype (BAP). For their part, depressive symptoms usually occur in people within the autism spectrum and are a risk factor in suicide rates within this population. The aim of this work was to identify the relationship between autistic traits and depressive symptoms in the general population. A systematic research methodology was used based on the PRISMA guide (Page et al., 2021). Scopus, ProQuest and Web of Science databases were used to select the articles that measured the relationship between autistic traits and depressive symptoms (n =10). As a result, it was found that there is a relationship between autistic traits and depressive symptoms, mostly predictive and positive. Likewise, it was found that there are possible mediating variables that would be influencing this relationship. These findings are relevant to the psychological field because they can determine the course of approaches in the clinical and general autistic population because of a greater understanding of the different ways in which autism manifests itself.
