Abstract: La presente tesis aborda el fenómeno comunicativo del videoactivismo a partir del colectivo
feminista Chola Contravisual, conocido por su incursión el activismo digital y audiovisual
en el Perú. El objetivo principal consistió en determinar las características de las prácticas de
videoactivismo dentro del colectivo mencionado entre los años 2016 y 2020. Para ello, se
realizó una entrevista dirigida a la directora general del colectivo, un análisis de contenidos
de 14 videos producidos por el mismo, y otro análisis de 602 comentarios en Facebook,
donde se difundieron tales videos. El primero de tales análisis se enfoca en los rasgos
narrativos y géneros de videoactivismo representados por los videos de Chola Contravisual.
A su vez, el segundo análisis mencionado emplea una clasificación de expresiones en redes
sociales para codificar los comentarios registrados. Los principales hallazgos evidencian una
narrativa de confrontación hacia el patriarcado en los videos de Chola Contravisual. El modo
de producción identificado en el colectivo se caracteriza por ser independiente y
colaborativo. Finalmente, se percibe una repercusión mayoritariamente positiva por el apoyo
de los usuarios seguidores del colectivo, aunque ciertas publicaciones digitales muestran
mayor polémica cuando las interacciones con el contenido aumentan.
This thesis approaches the communicative phenomenon of videoactivism through the feminist collective ‘Chola Contravisual’, known for their incursion on the digital and audiovisual activism in Peru. The main objective was to determine the main features of the videoactivism practices inside the mentioned collective, between the years 2016 and 2020. Thus, the following instruments were implemented: an interviews directed to Chola Contravisual’s director, a content analysis of 14 videos produced by this collective, and another analysis of 602 Facebook comments, where this videos were published. The fisrt analysis focus on the narrative features and genres of videoactivism portrayed by ‘Chola Contravisual’. Meanwhile, the second analysis uses a classification of expressions in social media, in order to codify the registered comments. The main results show a confrontational narrative towards the patriarchy in the videos. The mode of production identified in this collective is characterized as independent and collaborative. Finally, a broadly-positive repercussion is perceived, though some digital publications show more controversy when the content’s interactions enhances.
