The present study focuses on financially evaluating the implementation project of agricultural machinery for rice planting and harvesting in the department of Chiclayo, Lambayeque. To ensure viability, a development process was undertaken, which included reviewing background information, identifying limitations, and providing a detailed description of the problem. A theoretical framework was developed, incorporating relevant national and international research and essential theoretical foundations to comprehend the study. Regarding the study design, data were analyzed to estimate the cost of the planting process without agricultural machinery, quantify the necessary investment, and calculate investment costs with equity or financing. Costs that could be replaced with the implementation of agricultural machinery were identified, and expected revenues and expenses for the project were projected. Economic and financial cash flow projections were conducted for three years, divided into semesters, and viability was assessed through indicators such as Net Present Value (NPV), Internal Rate of Return (IRR), and Payback Period (PP). Additionally, the impact of climate on the rice planting process was considered, recognizing its crucial influence on decision-making. Favorable, moderate, and unfavorable scenarios were compared, concluding that the moderate scenario was the most suitable. In summary, the implementation project of agricultural machinery in Chiclayo, Lambayeque, proved to be economically viable, although the importance of considering climatic conditions throughout the planting process was emphasized.
