In this project, the feasibility of establishing a paint production plant with nopal (Opuntia Ficus-Indica) as the main input is evaluated, targeting socioeconomic levels A, B, and C, as well as sectors 6 and 7 of Metropolitan Lima. The proposal arises from the desire to utilize the natural resources available in Peru and to offer an ecological and distinct product. The document is organized into several chapters that justify the approach to sustainable development and the rationale for producing this product. The first chapter addresses the issues, objectives, and hypotheses, highlighting the research supporting this study. In the second chapter, the demand was estimated, forecasting sales of 76 598 units of the final product in the fifth year, based on the number of households in Metropolitan Lima as per the market study. The third chapter establishes the plant location considering macro and micro location factors. In the fourth chapter, the plant size was determined by evaluating the relationship between the market, productive resources, and the breakeven point to define the optimal size. In the fifth chapter, the engineering aspects of the project were analyzed, resulting in an installed capacity of 159 950 units per year, exceeding the projected demand. In the sixth chapter, the organizational and administrative structure was defined. Finally, an economic and financial evaluation was conducted, employing indicators such as Net Present Value (NPV), Internal Rate of Return (IRR), the benefit-cost ratio, and the investment payback period. This resulted in an economic NPV of S/ 808 759 and a financial NPV of S/ 901 646, with a total estimated investment of S/ 1 022 585.
