This research studied the coverage made by the weekly Peruvian publications “Caretas”, “Hildebrandt en sus trece” and “SEMANAeconómica” of the protests against the mining project Tía María, in Arequipa (Peru), between March and June of 2015. It was found that each of them covered the riots under a certain type of frame, according to the classification of frames that have done previous work. However, at the same time, this study found which when the news of two different publications coincided in the same frame (by example, the frame of conflict), there were some similarities regarding the structure that the notes followed and the image they helped build on who were the victims of the conflict and who the victimizer were. In addition to this, it was reviewed which were the sources that were most reported in the news about the event and how the photographs also contributed to reinforce the meaning that the text wanted to give depending on the frame used and the medium in which the information was published.
