The current research identifies and analyzes the effect of social and environmental sustainability activities on the operational performance of the supply chain of agro-exporting companies. Currently, Peruvian agro-exporting companies are facing a new reality that implies, what is known today as "sustainability", corresponding to the social and environmental sphere. For this reason, the study highlights which dimensions of the operational performance of the supply chain of these companies should be given greater attention in order to make them sustainable. Likewise, it is important to mention that in Peru there is a shortage of studies related to sustainable supply chains. The methodology consists of an investigation with a qualitative as well as a quantitative approach. The time horizon is cross-sectional, since previous studies from the last 5 years were analyzed; Furthermore, the technique used was the individual in-depth interview. On the other hand, a survey was made of Peruvian agro-export MSMEs for the quantitative analysis of the research. Finally, the results of the data collection were analyzed, concluding that Peruvian agro-exporting MSMEs do not have a sustainable supply chain. Although many of them carry out activities that contribute to both social and environmental sustainability, they are still in the process of adopting a sustainable business model and expanding this sustainability throughout their supply chain, since for them to have such a characteristic, all the actors in the chain must be sustainable.
