The study of the mediatization of protest in contexts of political and social crisis is a phenomenon that has become increasingly important in the last two decades in research about of the construction of news by the media. Currently, in the field of political communication there is a lot of interest in investigating how the meanings of protest are designed and transmitted through the alternative communication platforms of Social Media Live Streaming (SMLS). Therefore, this paper analyzes the journalistic coverage made, through their SMLS platforms, by Radio Programas del Perú (RPP Noticias) and La Decana Radio Juliaca (Radio La Decana) of the protests against the government of the president of Peru, Dina Boluarte, which occurred on January 9, 2023 in Puno, region of Peru. This comparative study makes a content analysis of the transmission of each media outlet using framing tools, the Model of Effective Audiovisual Informative Construction (MOCIAE) and the analysis protocol for SMLS transmissions. Among the main findings, it was determined that RPP Noticias exhibits an editorial line in line with the governmental discourse of rejection of the protest requirements and, predominantly, show and spread the episodes of violence caused by the demonstrators. On the other hand, Radio La Decana focuses its broadcasting on showing the consequences of the violence carried out by the police and military forces against the demonstrators, and expresses a declared support for the political demands of the mobilized population.
