The objective of this research is to present the problematic reality regarding Peruvian mango exports of the last decade; and how the interrelation with technology throughout the supply chain can impact on the improvement of productivity, efficiency, effectiveness and competitiveness. Within this context, we will review the main technologies applied in the 3 stages of technological development: cultivation, collection and commercialization, in the fresh mango industry in the Peruvian coastal region (Ancash, La Libertad, Lambayeque, Piura and Tumbes) through the years 2010 to 2020. Regarding the methodology used, it was exploratory with a quantitative approach by conducting semi -structured surveys to the main 23 fresh mango exporters in the Peruvian coastal region during the last ten years, and with a qualitative approach conducting in -depth interviews to 10 specialists in the fresh export mango industry: producers, exporters, advisors, and experts. Among the results obtained through the present investigation, the correlation between the use of technology and the export development of fresh mangoes, translated into the increase in value and volume of Peruvian exports in the last 10 years, was demonstrated. It was also confirmed that the most exported mango in Peru was the Kent variety; as well as that the main technology used in this period of time was the use of certifications, followed by technified irrigation and integrated pest management. Finally, it was concluded that there is an inverse relationship between the volume and the price of fresh mango; and that there are still incipient technologies in the mango industry in Peru.
