This document is a pre-feasibility study for the installation of a laboratory that produces culture media ready for use in the microbiological clinical diagnostic field, in which the feasibility of the project is analyzed by different business, technical, commercial and professional aspects. Within the field of health, one of the most important areas that supports the diagnosis of diseases is the laboratory, in which there are many disciplines of different specialties. This work is focused on providing a response to different operational problems that arise within the microbiology area in clinical laboratories, seeking to optimize the resource management, showing an improvement in the daily work. The starting point is the analysis of the target market. The potential demand was calculated based on that analysis of the target market, and finally, the market size and production capacity of the laboratory. The description of the product began in detail, identifying its advantages with respect to the current situation and what the market offers. Subsequently, the plant capacity necessary to cover said demand was calculated and the necessary machinery and equipment was identified to obtain the highest possible efficiency within the production process. Also, the administrative organization for the correct functioning of the company was identified and the financial analysis projected in the useful life of the project was carried out. Once the income and expense flows were identified in the financial and economic analysis, the profitability of the laboratory was evaluated using different business indicators. The results indicate that 2 years and 11 months are necessary to recover the investment, obtaining a NPV of S/318,142.84, as well as an IRR of 29.60%, confirming the feasibility of the laboratory.
