Aim of this study was to determine the relationship that exists between the emotional support provided by the nurse and acceptance of disease in patients with hemodialysis, dialysis of the Santa, Chimbote, Centre 2017. The level that was used was descriptive, correlational design that seeks the relationship between variables, cross-cutting and quantitative type. The study sample was comprised of 92 patients both males and females hemodialysis are treated in the center of the Santa dialysis. For the collection of data was used as an instrument the questionnaire with a Likert scale, which was obtained for the variable emotional support 0,897 reliability and variable acceptance of disease 0,856 reliability. Results showed that the 45.65% of respondents perceive a level regulation with respect to the variable emotional support, the 30,43% perceive a good level and a 23.91% a bad level on the other hand also noted the 56.52% of the respondents have a level regular with regard to variable acceptance of disease, the 25.00% presented a good level and a 18.48% a bad level. It is concluded that there is a correlation directly and positively between the variable emotional support and acceptance of the disease, according to the correlation of Spearman of 0.692, taking a moderate result. He is recommended that nursing professional develop research aimed to establish association between time with disease and coping and adaptation capacity. Likewise the institutions that implement models of care according to the needs of these, seeing patients as a biopsychosocial beings to provide services with quality and efficiency.
