This study analyzed the relationship between caregiver burden and resilience among 415 informal caregivers of people with disabilities. It was a basic, non-experimental study with a correlational scope. Data were collected through surveys, specifically the Zarit Caregiver Burden Scale (Manrique and Torres, 2021) and the Resilience Scale by Wagnild and Young (Gómez, 2019). At a descriptive level, it was found that 72.3% (300) of caregivers did not experience significant burden, 13.25% (45) experienced intense burden, and 14.45% (60) experienced mild burden. Most caregivers exhibited high levels of resilience (M = 133.16 out of 175). At an inferential level, resilience was found to have a significant inverse relationship with caregiver burden (rs = -0.21), the quality of interpersonal relationships (rs = -0.20), and expectations of self-sufficiency (rs = -0.11). These results indicate that higher resilience is associated with lower burden and better interpersonal relationships. The conclusions highlight that resilience acts as a protective factor against caregiver burden, improves interpersonal relationships, and reduces expectations of self-sufficiency. These findings align with previous studies and underscore the need for preventive programs to improve the psychological health of informal caregivers in Metropolitan Lima.
