Dental malocclusions represent the third most frequent cause of requesting clinical attention in dental care, presenting a reported prevalence of up to 60% in Peru, with which the study on its etiology indicates that one of the factors in which can predispose or exacerbate the development of malocclusions xii is related to breastfeeding habits, where the type and duration of breastfeeding will directly impact the correct development of maxillofacial structures and the greater risk of dental malocclusions. Objectives: The general objective of the research is to determine the relationship of breastfeeding habits in the development of dental malocclusions in children aged 6 to 10 years of a national school in the district of Callao, 2023. Material and methods: This is a non-experimental, cross-sectional, correlational and prospective study, where the study sample will be made up of 92 children from 6 to 10 years old from a national school in the district of Callao, 2023, in which through the application of a questionnaire aimed at the mother or guardian, breastfeeding habits will be established, specifically referring to the type and duration of breastfeeding that her minor child presented in the first months of life, and through a clinical examination, the type of dental malocclusion is recorded according to Angle, which indicates the susceptibility of present alliterations in occlusion such as open, cross, deep bite or dental crowding. Results: The results were that there is a relationship (p<0.05) between breastfeeding habits in the development of dental malocclusions in children from 6 to 10 years old, where the majority of children had exclusive breastfeeding and class I dental malocclusion (Angle classification) by 52.2%. Conclusions: Breastfeeding influences the appearance of dental malocclusions
