Malignant breast neoplasia has significantly increased in the last decade, becoming a major concern. However, the Mediterranean diet presents itself as an ally in the fight against this disease, showing its potential to prevent breast cancer. In this context, the present research was conducted through a thorough analysis of original studies, including case-control studies, meta-analyses, and systematic reviews. An article was selected that addresses the central question: "How does the Mediterranean diet influence the reduction of breast cancer risk in adult women?" The methodology applied was based on the principles of evidence-based nutrition. A search was conducted in the PUBMED and SCIENCE DIRECT databases, where 11 relevant articles were identified, of which 6 were evaluated using the critical analysis tool "CASPE." Finally, a systematic review on the relationship between the Mediterranean diet and breast cancer risk was chosen, which has a level of evidence AI and a Strong Recommendation Grade. The analysis concluded that there is solid evidence supporting that the Mediterranean diet may reduce the risk of breast cancer in women.
