pacientes adultos mayores. Materiales y Métodos: Se seguirá una investigación
hipotético-deductiva, cuantitativa, no experimental, transversal y correlativa.
Introduction: Falls are a worldwide problem in older adults, which is why a risk assessment is important, since it affects the emotional, functional and social aspects of patients. Which causes fracture, immobility, incontinence, urinary infections, respiratory infections, pressure injuries and cognitive disorders. Objective: Determine how functional abilities are related to fall risks in older adult patients. Materials and Methods: A hypothetical-deductive, quantitative, non-experimental, transversal and correlative research will be followed. Population: All patients from zone I, from the District of San Martín de Porres, will be considered, with a total of 367 Essalud patients. Sample: It will be made up of 138 older adult patients. The techniques that will be applied include scale for both study variables. The validity of instrument 1, Katz index, the Likert scale will be used. For the reliability of the instrument, correlation coefficients of 0.73 and 0.98 were found and with agreements close to 80%. For instrument 2, Tinetti Scale, Cronbach's Alpha was used, obtaining 0.95, demonstrating high reliability. Likewise, the Chi square will be applied to demonstrate the hypotheses.
