Objective: Determine the relationship between functional ankle instability and risk factors in amateur athletes at the FISANAR Physical Therapy Center, period 2024. Materials and Methods: The sample of this research will be made up of amateur athletes of both sexes and between 25 and 50 years, the Identification of Functional Ankle Instability (IDFAI) questionnaires and the questionnaire related to Factors related to sports injuries were used. Results: The study group is made up of athletes between 25 and 50 years old. The majority group is made up of athletes between 35 and 39 years old, representing 37.38% of the total. The 40- to 44-year-old group represents 24.30% of the population. The 30- to 34-year-old group represents 22.43%. The 45- to 50-year-old group represents 8.41%. The 25- to 29- year-old group represents 7.48% of the total sample. The sample is represented by a slight majority of the female gender, with 54.21%, while 45.79% is made up of people of the male gender. In functional instability of the ankle, a majority prevalence of athletes without ankle instability can be seen, with a 64.49%. 35.51% of athletes show ankle instability. The distribution of risk factors. 61.68% of athletes do not have risk factors. 38.32% do present risk factors Conclusions: More than a third of the patients show a prevalence of extrinsic risk factors, the majority of amateur athletes are right-handed, there is a prevalence of injury on the left side of amateur athletes, we can conclude that the functional ankle instability variable and the risk factor variable are positively and highly related to each other. the distribution of risk factors.
