Approximately 50 million dengue infections occur worldwide annually. The Pan American Health Organization (PAHO) reported that during the first seven months of 2019, Latin America and the Caribbean recorded over 2 million dengue cases and 723 deaths. In Peru, 7,479 dengue cases were reported in 2019. In 2023, Lima reported 3,292 dengue cases, with 2,200 cases in North Lima, 1,200 in Central Lima, and the majority concentrated in Rímac. This project aims to determine whether there is a relationship between hematological parameters and the severity of dengue infection in patients based on age and sex.
