Introduction: The quality of life of patients with peritoneal dialysis is a topic little explored by the scientific community, despite its relevance highlighted by the Latin American Society of Nephrology and Hypertension, which indicates that there is an urgent need to improve access to this therapy. . in remote regions where access difficulties are significant. Expanding access could benefit many patients who currently lack adequate care. Self-care plays a crucial role in maintaining the peritoneal dialysis catheter and preventing complications. Objective: Determine the relationship between self-care and quality of life in patients with peritoneal dialysis therapy. Methods: Study with a hypothetical, deductive, quantitative approach applied to a longitudinal and non-experimental design research, with a sample consisting of 98 patients. For data collection, the “Appraisal of Self-care Agency Scale (ASA)” self-care instruments and the “International Quality of Life Assessment (IQUOLA)” instrument, previously validated in the national context, were used. The survey will be used as a technique to apply both questionnaires. The data collected will be processed in the statistical program SPSS version 25, to create tables and graphs and construct the descriptive analysis and also the degree of relationship between the variables addressed.
