In recent years, the use of new technologies that meet the standards established in the regulations for the manufacture and assembly of metal roofs has been implemented in Peru, achieving greater speed, lower costs, innovative designs, use of spaces and care of the environment. The present investigation seeks to evaluate whether the use of self-supporting membrane-type roofs in the rehabilitation of the La Inmaculada school in the city of Talara, achieves the optimization of the cost time of execution, allowing the State to carry out a greater number of works and maintenance of educational infrastructures. with less investment. To this end, a comparative analysis was carried out between the proposal for conventional metal roofs from the technical file and this innovative construction system, based on its technical descriptions, properties of the structural components, functional conditions, budgets and work schedules, supported, in turn. , in the analysis of factors that affect them, ratios and productivity through Pareto diagrams, managing to obtain a percentage of optimization in costs of 43.40% and in execution time of 31.52% in favor of the executed proposal. In this way, it was concluded that the self-supporting membrane-type roofs were much faster and cheaper to build, since they dispensed with the structural components of the conventional system when covering the training yard and the 03 existing sports slabs in the school to be intervened
