Determine the factors associated with premature rupture of membranes in pregnant women treated at the El Porvenir Santa Isabel District Hospital, Trujillo - Peru, 2017-2021. Material and methods: Study with a quantitative approach, retrospective non- experimental design of cases and controls, which considered a sample made up of 416 pregnant women with PROM (cases) and 416 pregnant women without PROM (controls). The collection form was made up of 14 dichotomous items. The chi square was used as a statistical test with a significance level of 0.05; complemented with the calculation of the Odd Ratio in the factors with significant association. Results: The risk factors associated with PROM are sociodemographic, such as married/cohabiting marital status (OR=1.59); clinical type, such as vaginal infection (OR=2.8); and obstetric type, such as a history of abortion (OR= 2.02) and a history of PROM (OR=7.9). Only nulliparity represented a protective factor for the presence of PROM (OR= 0.75). Conclusion: There are sociodemographic, clinical and obstetric factors associated with premature rupture of membranes in pregnant women treated at the El Porvenir Santa Isabel District Hospital, Trujillo - Peru, 2017-2021.
