The present thesis was developed with the objective of knowing the influence of the Natural additive Mucilago of cactus Echinopsis Pachanoi in the resistance to the compression, consistency and the permeability of the concrete, these materials were added to the concrete mixture and the comparison of the obtained results was made. The percentages chosen to add the Mucilago de cactus echinopsis pachanoi to the concrete mixture were three, of 0.5%, 1% and 1.5% depending on the weight of the cement. For the development of this investigation the characterization of the materials involved was made: fine aggregate, coarse aggregate and cactus echinopsis pachanoi, to then proceed to make 4 designs of mixture considering f'c = 210 kg/cm2, following the method of ACI 211.1; then the tests were carried out on fresh and hardened concrete; in the tests on fresh concrete it was evaluated: slump, temperature and for the tests on hardened concrete it was evaluated: resistance to compression and depth of water penetration (permeability). In this way, the behavior of 210 kg/cm2 standard concrete and standard concrete + addition of cactus echinopis pachanoi mucilage, in relation to their resistance, consistency and permeability, was evaluated and compared. From the results obtained, it was determined that the concrete elaborated with addition of mucilage of cactus echinopsis pachanoi of 1.5% presented the greater resistances in all the ages of the assay, being these values, of 259 kg/cm2 to the 3 days, 318 kg/cm2 to the 7 days and 384 kg/cm2 to the 28 days, this last value corresponded to the highest reached in the assay; in relation to the permeability, this percentage of mucilage of cactus echinopsis pachanoi (1.).5%), presented the lowest water penetration depth equivalent to 0 mm, being the concrete with the lowest permeability in the test. Based on the results obtained in the present thesis, it is recommended the use of cactus echinopsis pachanoi mucilage at 1.5% in the concrete for the application proposed in this research (slabs and pavements), taking into consideration the social, economic and environmental benefits offered by the mucilage of cactus echinopsis pachanoi.
