was to perform a systematic review and meta-analysis on RDW as a prognostic factor in DLBCL METHODS: A systematic review was performed in the PUBMED, EMBASE and SCOPUS databases. Prospective and retrospective cohorts were reviewed using the diagnosis of DLBCL according to WHO criteria. A quantitative synthesis of the information was carried out using an approach based on meta-analysis. The association was reported by Hazard Ratio (HR) with its respective 95%CI. RESULTS: : Five studies were identified and 848 patients were included. Only 1 study was from Latin America. The median RDW was 14.8 (range 14.1 to 15). Five studies with 848 patients showed a significant association between RDW and OS (HR: 2.19 [95% CI: 1.62-2.98, I2: 0%; P=0.45]). In the sensitivity analysis, when we excluded the results of Brady and Manman Li, heterogeneity increased (I2=17-18%, respectively). CONCLUSSION: RDW was found to be a relevant prognostic factor for OS in patients with DLBCL. The main limitation was the inconsistency of the cut-off values for the RDW in the different included studies, which suggests the need to standardize this cut-off point for future research
