This research aims to evaluate the elements susceptible to improvement that generate risk of road accidents in the Lima – Canta section of National Route PE-20A. The type of research, according to its orientation or purpose, is applied, with a descriptive design. The results indicate that the section has a length of 79.00 km, the accidents produced between the years 2019 and 2021 amount to 35, resulting 22 people killed and 24 injured. The causes of these accidents were 23% due to crashes, 14% leaving the road and rollover. The analysis of accident data shows that 97% involve the human factor, 29% the infrastructure factor and 3% the vehicle factor. The IMDA ranges from 2001 – 4000 veh/day. It is concluded that among the main problems is confusion in an area with a prohibition of overtaking, speeding, dangerous margins due to insufficient vehicle containment systems, accesses and outputs without channeling, short length for speed changes, and curves with low radii, insufficient over widths, poor visibility, and poor perception of traffic control devices.
