Abstract: La presente investigación, tuvo como objetivo determinar la prevalencia de
daño hepático mediante las enzimas de Alanina Aminotransferasa (ALT) y
Aspartato Aminotransferasa (AST) en cachorros con diagnóstico de parvovirus
canino (CPV), en el distrito de Trujillo. Se muestrearon 33 perros hasta los 12
meses de edad, procedentes de veterinarias entre diciembre 2023 y julio 2024,
que no hayan recibido ningún medicamento previo a la consulta. Después de la
anamnesis de los pacientes y toma de signos clínicos, se tomó la muestra fecal
para el test de parvovirus canino. Una vez obtenido los datos y el test positivo, se
extrajo la muestra sanguínea mediante venopunción, se envió al laboratorio clínico
VetHelp para obtener los resultados de las enzimas hepáticas. El análisis
estadístico de los datos se realizó con el programa IBM SPSS Statistics versión
26, un análisis descriptivo para calcular los promedios, en donde se obtuvo como
resultados que hay un mayor número de casos de 51.5% cuando ambas enzimas
están dentro de los rangos normales (ALT ≤40U/L y AST ≤65U/L) que cuando solo
una de ellas está elevada (ALT=9.1% y AST=18.2) y/o ambas elevadas con
21.2%, evidenciando la carencia de daño hepático en cachorros con parvovirus
canino. Por otro, lado también se analizó la relación entre la edad y la elevación
de enzimas en donde se obtuvo que los valores de p= 0.288 para ALT y p= 0.591
para AST, indicando que no existe una asociación significativa. Con respecto a la
relación del sexo y las enzimas, también se obtuvo que los odds ratios calculados
1.154 para ALT y 0.778 para AST) sugieren que el riesgo relativo de daño hepático
asociado al sexo es bajo y también carece de significancia estadística. Es por ello
que se concluyó que las variables estudiadas en relación a las enzimas no
presentan significancia estadística debido al tamaño de la muestra, y a su vez,
gracias al porcentaje mayor de cachorros con CPV que presentan sus enzimas
dentro del rango normal se descarta un posible daño hepático debido al
parvovirus
The aim of this research was to determine the prevalence of liver damage using the enzymes Alanine Aminotransferase (ALT) and Aspartate Aminotransferase (AST) in puppies diagnosed with canine parvovirus (CPV), in the district of Trujillo. 33 dogs up to 12 months of age were sampled, from veterinary clinics between December 2023 and July 2024, which had not received any medication prior to the consultation. After the anamnesis of the patients and taking of clinical signs, the fecal sample was taken for the canine parvovirus test. Once the data and the positive test were obtained, the blood sample was extracted by venipuncture, it was sent to the VetHelp clinical laboratory to obtain the results of the liver enzymes. Statistical analysis of the data was performed using the IBM SPSS Statistics program version 26, a descriptive analysis to calculate the averages, where the results obtained were that there is a greater number of cases of 51.5% when both enzymes are within normal ranges (ALT ≤40U / L and AST ≤65U / L) than when only one of them is elevated (ALT = 9.1% and AST = 18.2) and / or both elevated with 21.2%, showing the lack of liver damage in puppies with canine parvovirus.
