Objetive: To determine if the antecedent of traffic accident is a risk factor for the development of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder in patients with mild TEC in the Belen Hospital of Trujillo and Regional Teaching Hospital of Trujillo. Material and Method: An analytical, cross-sectional, cohort study was carried out. The study population consisted of 150 patients diagnosed with mild TBI caused by a traffic accident, height or level fall, assault or others, who will undergo an interview, which will conclude who tends to develop Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder. Results: The statistical analysis on the variables under study reported that the prevalence of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder in patients with mild TBI due to a traffic accident is 70.7% and the traffic accident (OR: 14.05, IC: 95% [5.96 – 33.09], p<0.01%) as a cause of mild TBI, the loss of consciousness, the therapeutic vacuum , transportation to the health center and age are associated factors for the development of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder. Conclusions: The history of traffic accidents, loss of consciousness, therapeutic gap, transportation to the health center and age constitute a risk factor for the development of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder in patients with mild TEC. No statistically significant relationship was found between height fall, aggression as a cause of mild ECT for the development of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, in addition there is no association by gender
